OUR STORY

Back in 1986, our parents, Chris and Cheryl, started making ice cream in their Cheshire farmhouse kitchen. With delicious fresh cream, only the very best ingredients and an old Kenwood Chef, Snugburys was born. They soon outgrew selling ice cream from their kitchen window and converted an old barn in the cobbled courtyard.

 

Fast forward 30-odd years, and today we (sisters Hannah, Kitty and Cleo) are at the helm with a fantastic team of ice cream makers and scoopers!

OUR FAMOUS ICE CREAM SHOP

The original barn is still home to our famous Snugburys ice cream shop, which now attracts over 350,000 ‘ice creamers’ a year for a scoop or two of our award-winning ice cream.
 
We have continued our parents’ passion, using only the best ingredients in our ice cream.

 

We make a range of delicious flavours, from our very popular Chocolate Brownie, made with our own handcrafted brownies, to Caramelised Banana, where we roast the bananas in-house with a sprinkling of brown sugar.
 
We go that extra mile, and we believe this is what makes Snugburys, well, Snugburys.

SUSTAINABILITY

As a business, we believe it is important, where possible, to minimise our impact on the environment. In 2022, we invested in extra solar panels to install on our production roof. We are now proud to say we have nearly 350 solar panels in total powering our ice cream dairy.

 

It doesn’t stop at solar panels. Our modern ice cream production facility has the latest heat source technology that allows us to capture all excess heat and reuse it to heat our water.

 

We recycle all our cardboard and have a washing and sterilising facility that enables us to reuse our Napoli 5-litre containers, reducing the need for virgin plastic.

 

This is only the start; we will always continue to improve our environmental impact.
